How Private Music Tech Lessons Work

Placement

A short consultation helps match you with a tech instructor who understands your preferred DAW, style, and goals.

Lessons

Sessions combine guided instruction, project work, and critique. You’ll receive templates, session files, and feedback as you progress.

Progress

Milestones include completing tracks, submitting demos, or releasing music. Students build portfolios as they progress.

Joel Greenberg has been teaching professionally since 2002. He has developed a unique studio at the Cincinnati Music Academy which includes a large collection of instruments and music production equipment. Students have the opportunity do explore music beyond the traditional private lesson. As a performer Joel has toured nationally and works frequently as a freelance multi-instrumentalist for regional productions and performances. He is a graduate of the CCM Jazz Studies program, has taught at the college level, and is a co-owner of the Cincinnati Music Academy.

Who can take tech lessons?

Students age 13 and older, including adults, are welcome at any experience level.

What software will I learn?

Do I need equipment or software?

You’ll need a computer and DAW software (students often already have these). CMA provides studio gear during in-person lessons.
