Ensemble Program Cincinnati — Classical & Jazz

Experience the sophistication of classical and jazz ensemble playing. CMA brings musicians together to share the joy of rehearsing with peers and performing live. With expert coaching and flexible scheduling, it’s easy to make music part of your life again.

What is the Ensemble Program?

Cincinnati Music Academy’s Ensemble Program pairs teens and adults with small classical and jazz groups matched by skill level. Musicians rehearse weekly to strengthen ensemble skills and prepare for seasonal community concerts across Cincinnati. From teens pursuing auditions to adults rediscovering their instruments, CMA ensembles make chamber music and jazz combos structured, social, and rewarding.

  • Weekly 75–90 minute coached rehearsals
  • Small groups — quartets, quintets, jazz combos
  • Placement by age and skill (teens and adults)
  • Music ranges from classical works to jazz favorites
  • Seasonal performances at local community venues

What to Expect in the Ensemble Program

You’ll rehearse with peers who share your goals, creating an environment that’s both challenging and supportive. Teens expand beyond school ensembles, while adults enjoy regular playing without the logistics of organizing a group. Each ensemble builds a setlist with its coach and ends the season performing for family, friends, and the community.

What our Students & Families Say

I’ve learned so much in my music lessons. Playing in the ensemble program has challenged me and shown me just how much I can really do when I set my mind to it. Before this I didn’t realize how much I love playing music.
