Each of the Academys voice teaching studios has well-trained singers who are recognized for their talent in our areas local schools, churches, community choruses, and community theatrical productions (both amateur and professional). Our voice teachers regularly score well at O.M.E.A. solo and ensemble competitions; many have received scholarships from local competitions such as Cincinnati Arts Associations Overture Awards. Voice study at CMA includes...
All Technique and Performance classes are included with the monthly tuition. While they are optional, we recommend voice students attend at least one of each class every month. Student documents |
Students from our studios have achieved recognition beyond Cincinnati. We regularly have students who are awarded substantial scholarships at prestigious institutions such as New York University, Boston University, Eastman School of Music, Carnegie Mellon University, Indiana University, Depauw University, Northwestern University, and Miami University (Ohio), to name a few. We have students who have performed leading roles on Broadway in musicals such as Les Miserables and Children of Eden, and who have sung roles for New York City Opera, Cincinnati Opera, Dayton Opera, Columbus Opera, and Whitewater Opera. Cincinnati Music Academy is structured to attract experienced voice teachers with advanced degrees. These professional instructors manage their own studios under the umbrella of the academy and have long term commitment to our community. |
While each voice studio is its own entity, there is great agreement among the studios as to effective instruction techniques and policies. The voice studios all offer a similar number of private sessions each year. In addition, their students may participate in over 90 hours of extra vocal education that the Academy offers. These excellent classes are designed to enhance the private lessons and to help students become more audition- and performance-ready. The classes are included in each teachers monthly tuition; students may participate as much as they can fit into their own schedules. Students who actively participate achieve their goals much faster and enjoy a sense of community with other active students. All of the voice studios also provide recital opportunities for their students. Cincinnati Music Academy is a place where singers can grow and where the most important relationship, that of teacher and student, is highly respected.
