Maria Ventura
Voice
Maria Ventura is a Cincinnati native and graduate of the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music (CCM). She has performed leading mezzo-soprano roles with various European and American opera houses and orchestras. Most notably, she performed four years with the Theatre de la Monnaie in Brussels, Belgium. As well as performing with companies in Amsterdam, the Netherlands, Flanders and Italy, Ms. Ventura has appeared in the United States with Miami Opera, Kentucky Opera, Dayton Opera, Cincinnati Opera and Whitewater/Sorg Opera Companies.
Still an active performer, Ms. Ventura also enjoys her role as vocal instructor! While working as a graduate assistant at Illinois State University, Maria maintained a vocal studio of 22 undergraduates at ISU and 16 at Illinois Wesleyan University.
In 2003, Maria taught voice for the Musical Arts Center and the CCM Preperatory Department. She joined the voice faculty of Cincinnati Music Academy in March 2004.
