Takako HayasePiano |
Dr. Takako Hayase agrees with Shinichi Suzuki developer of the world-renowned Suzuki instructional methods that all children are equally gifted. Children have unlimited abilities to make anything possible. Takako particularly enjoys working with young, beginning students. In addition to providing weekly piano lessons, Takako motivates her students by participating in local evaluations, auditions and competitions such as Junior Music Experience, the Ohio Music Teachers Association Piano Play-A-Thon, and studio recitals. Suzuki students also give solo graduation recitals upon completing their Suzuki book. These are always the most rewarding and memorable events for Takako and her students. Takako has completed her doctorate in piano performance at University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music (CCM). At CCM, her main teachers were Eugene and Elizabeth Pridonoff. Takako completed her masters degree in piano performance at Eastman School of Music, where she studied with Natalya Antonova. |
After receiving intensive training at the preparatory division of Toho Gakuen of Music in Japan for more than ten years, she immigrated to the U.S. in 1991. Since then, she has performed internationally in Canada, France, Germany, Czech Republic, Japan and throughout the U.S., including a 1998 appearance at Weill Hall in Carnegie Hall, New York City. In addition to the solo performances, she is actively engaged in the performance of chamber music. In addition to offering piano lessons at Cincinnati Music Academy, Takako is currently on the faculty of the CCM Preparatory Division as a coordinator in the Suzuki department. She is also a co-founder of Cincinnati Piano Institute, which is offered through CCM. Takako strongly believes that parental involvement in music study is essential. Parents are required to attend the private lessons with their children at least until they are 12 years old (this is mandatory for Suzuki students of all ages). Parents who have no musical background can learn along with their children, as Takakos mother had successfully done. |
