Mr. Bruce has been teaching classical guitar in the Cincinnati area since 1985. He has been on the faculty at Cincinnati-area institutions since 1985. He was the Administrator for the Classical Guitar Summer Workshop from 1986-96 and has been on the workshop’s faculty since that time.

Scott specializes in classical and finger-style folk guitar. The program is open to adults and students no younger than the third grade. Lessons address many issues of developing artists: technique (scales, slurs, arpeggios), repertoire, and music theory.

Scott performs throughout the region. Performances include solo and chamber recitals, Cincinnati Symphony Club, Sorg Opera Company’s “Man of La Mancha,” Augusta Young Artist Series, Clifton Music Club, “Acoustic Lunch” at Piatt Park, Blue Jordan Folk Festival, SummerFair, Cincinnati Composer’s Guild, Music Educators National Conference (MENC) national convention, American Choral Directors Association, and Ohio Music Education Association.

Scott was a featured artist on Jim Minier’s CD “Indian Summer.” He also composed songs, performed, engineered and co-produced a folk-rock CD in 2000 (The Dowlands, “Foundation”). Both CDs are available at Joseph-Beth Booksellers.
