Cincinnati Music Academy, LLC (CMA) was started in 1997 by three Cincinnati music teachers — Amy Rose Immerman, Paul McCready and Lenore Wilkinson. Their objective in starting CMA was to provide high-quality music education in a friendly, productive environment for their students and an appropriate business atmosphere for themselves and other independent Cincinnati music teachers.

After the death of Lenore Wilkinson in 2006, Wayne Wilkinson, Lenore’s husband, was invited to become a CMA co-owner. Wayne has been an active participant in the development and growth of Cincinnati Music Academy since its founding. “I’ve worked hard to help make CMA become the area’s premier location for private music instruction,” Wayne said. “I was very pleased to join Amy and Paul.”

CMA is located in two buildings that share a common address — 7777 Montgomery Road, in the north-east Cincinnati suburban area of Kenwood, in Sycamore Township.

CMA started with four studios in Suite 1 of “Building B” and expanded in the year 2000 to include five additional studios in Suite 6 of “Building A.” Another expansion in September 2002 added three more studios in Suite 4 of “Building B.” Five more studios were added in “Building B” in June 2004, and four more in August 2005, for a total of 21 studios.

CMA is convenient to Interstate 71 and to several major roads. It is located just a few minutes from the more than 200 shops in Kenwood Towne Centre mall and Sycamore Plaza, plus dozens of nearby stores. Go here for a map and driving directions.

CMA’s independent piano, voice, guitar, flute and string teachers provide a wide variety of teaching experiences to help their students increase their knowledge and enjoyment of making music. Many of these teachers are affiliated with one or more professional organizations, including:

Many Cincinnati Music Academy teachers offer enhanced experiences to their students by participating in enrichment programs such as:

  • Student recitals
  • Junior Music Experience (JME)
  • OMTA events including the Piano Play-a-thon, Masquerade Musicale, Showcase Recitals at the Aronoff arts center and Cincinnati Art Museum, Tri-County Concerto Competition and others
  • Junior Festival

As CMA’s teachers are independent businesspeople; they determine their own policies, teaching programs and methods, schedules, and price structures. CMA has no control over these and is not responsible for them.
